[Case Study of Wooden Facility Renovation] Nanayama Truss Bridge
Possible appropriate renovation proposals! Introducing cases where FRP materials have been used for the renovation of truss bridges.
We would like to introduce a renovation case of the "Nanayama Truss Bridge" (Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture), which was constructed using foreign timber along a walking course dotted with seven waterfalls and pools. Corrosion was observed throughout the timber, and reinforcement work was carried out considering both aesthetics and structural integrity. Boron-based insect and decay prevention agents (Impel Rod) were embedded in the corroded areas of the timber, and a protective wood coating was applied over the entire surface. Additionally, the main girder was reinforced with steel to enhance safety. 【Renovation Case】 ■ Renovation Details: Truss Bridge (Width: 2.5m × Length: 29.0m) ■ Materials Used - Structural Material: Bongoshi wood → Steel - Decking: Bongoshi wood → Repaired and reused - Handrail: Bongoshi wood → Repaired and reused Our company is capable of providing appropriate renovation proposals by combining various materials such as steel, aluminum alloys, FRP, recycled wood, and natural wood.
